BROOKLYN INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Performing Arts Workshop
The Performing Arts Workshop
at BIHS is an after-school opportunity for students to explore
cross-cultural dialogue through creative movement, dance and dramatic
activities. Since the program's beginning in 1996, hundreds of students
have attended the workshop and performed original interdisciplinary
theatre pieces about the immigrant experience and social policy.
Beginning in 2002, students from Martha's classes at New York
Univiersty have assisted in facilitating the workshops as well as
performing with BIHS students.
Drama Club has done for me what
a psychologist cannot do.
Drama
Club has taken away all the stress that I had.
As an immigrant
communicating with others,
Drama Club has helped me to improve
my
English and learn about other cultures.
Drama Club is the best
experience I have ever had in my whole life.
