Doors opened for a free, catered Thanksgiving dinner at 5:45pm, bringing together youth, friends, families, Red Hook residents, public officials, and staff from Good Shepherd’s Beacon Community Center.

Dance Theatre Etcetera presented work by Sekou McMiller SMc Dance Company, a leader in the Afro Latin dance movement; Brooklyn-based, high energy flexn crew Reggie “Regg Roc” Gray and The D.R.E.A.M Ring dancers; as well as emerging dancers from Red Hook’s own CYC/Cora Youth Company. Guests worked off their meals after the show at a dance party with DJ Royal Isaac on the turntables.

Red Hook: Move It offers free access to top notch professional dance performances, supports emerging young artists of color, and invites audiences to get on the floor and “move it!” with a live DJ dance party. Good Shepherd Services has been offering this as a free event to the Red Hook community for years, but this year we teamed up to kick it up a notch. Join us for an evening of food, fellowship, performances, and fun!
