Digital Boot Camp and In Transition: Media are DTE’s paid internship programs for teens and young adults. In these programs participants learn pre-professional filmmaking skills including media literacy, producing, and editing under the tutelage of DTE’s master teaching artists while earning minimum wage income. Digital Boot Camp and In Transition: Media alumni have received college scholarships, project grants, and positions with local production houses and popular television shows.
This year’s Digital Boot Camp garnered record interest, and our waitlist is full of talented potential media makers.
We would love to accept more young people into the program but to exceed our 30 person capacity we need you to help us raise funds to support additional students’ wages.
Digital Boot Camp and In Transition: Media have proven themselves as educational and career pipelines, and we would like to extend this vital training to all who are interested. Unfortunately, as a small non-profit, we simply do not have the financial ability to pay for all of these students to participate. A donation to these programs creates a transformative opportunity for local youth from Red Hook and other low-income Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Donate to Support Future Media Makers Now
While DTE appreciates donations of any amount, our goal is to raise funds that can go towards paying internship minimum wage stipends for our 2017 summer Digital Boot Camp participants. DTE is committed to making our summer programs paid internships so participants who need to make money during the summer can have the option to both work and learn valuable skills. You can help in the following ways and perhaps consider joining with a few friends to sponsor at the $880 level.
DTE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all deductions are fully tax deductible to the extent provided by law. To donate by check, make it payable to Dance Theatre Etcetera, Inc. and mail to:
