Founded in 1994, DTE (Dance Theatre Etcetera) is a vibrant community-based, multi-disciplinary arts organization located on the Red Hook, Brooklyn waterfront. DTE currently runs year-round arts education programs at high needs public high schools as well onsite and offsite after-school and community programs for ages 12-24, serving upwards of 700 students annually.  In addition, DTE produces the annual Red Hook Fest each June – a free outdoor performing arts festival that features top-notch music and dance groups as well performances by over 100 local youth – and Red Hook: Move It! in the fall, a showcase of several dance companies’ works and a participatory dance party held in conjunction with a Red Hook Thanksgiving celebration.

Dance Theatre Etcetera (DTE) seeks an intern to coordinate youth performance group performances in the 25th annual Red Hook Fest on June 1st and 2nd, 2018. Tasks will include working with DTE staff to identify youth performance groups, contacting their director and scheduling a visit to a class or rehearsal. Youth Group Coordensure will insure that each youth group completes the paperwork required to participate in the Red Hook Fest, understands their call time and their performance time on site at the festival and that each group that requires audio playback sends their audio track to the Red Hook Fest Production Manager  in advance of the event.  Intern will also update documents on Google Drive with participating youth group information.  Intern will be expected to work both days of the fest to assist festival crew, and will be in charge of Youth Group Check In.

The position will require 2-4 hrs per week March, April 2018, and 4-16 hrs per week in May leading up to festival.

Ideal candidate will have has previous  experience in the performing arts, excellent written and verbal communicationskills,  is very detail oriented and enjoys working with youth 10-18 years of age.
